The Elena Lema Lema and Fmaily
The Lema Lemas are a large, industrious family taking part in various specialties of textile production in the small village of Peguche, near the larger town of Otavalo in the Northern Sierra of Ecuador.
Elena Lema Lema, seen here with her mother, is one of the only of her six brothers and sisters who does not own her own mechanized loom.
She is married to Jose Cordoba Jr., son of Jose Cordoba who also works with INTO. Her sense of style and color schemes encourage INTO to help Elena develop herself as not only an artisan but also an entrepreneur.
She is one of INTO's biggest producers and since selling to INTO has been able to build her own house with her family. INTO hopes to help Elena become even more self-sufficient. She has two young sons and her mother, Juana Lema Lema currently aids Elena in her orders for INTO.
